As a private teacher, Cat has taught across the US in-person and online. From 2014-2018 she maintained an active teaching studio of young beginners to adult amateurs in Tucson, AZ - with students winning principal chairs in local youth orchestras and placing favorably in college admissions.

As a teaching artist, Cat works with Youth Orchestra Los Angeles at Heart of Los Angeles (YOLA at HOLA) and Torres (YOLA at Torres) as a frequent substitute. She can be found teaching oboe, recorder, clarinet, and other woodwinds as needed. Cat has worked with students of all ages through educational outreach programs with the Tucson Symphony, the San Diego Symphony, Huntsville Symphony, and as part of the Terry Barber Trio. She has coached youth orchestras and bands in California, Arizona, New Jersey, and New York.

Cat previously taught flute, oboe, and clarinet online through MMC

Musical Mentors Collaborative is a music education nonprofit that provides free, one-on-one music instruction to students who wouldn’t otherwise have access to private lessons.

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, MMC moved lessons online and expanded from working exclusively through schools to engaging with supportive housing programs and homeless shelters. MMC provides free instruments and classroom tech to students as needed.

As an MMC Teaching Fellow, Cat worked with students on flute, oboe, and clarinet. Cat’s students ranged in age from 4-20 and accessed lessons from across the US and Puerto Rico.

Though no longer an active teaching fellow, Cat is an avid supporter of both MMC’s mission and humans.
